Salt Spring Community Theatre is staging a production of the Nobel Prize-winning play, Betrayal by Harold Pinter, directed by Damian Inwood, at Mahon Hall between Nov. 5 and Nov. 20.
Roles to be cast are:
Jerry, aged 40, a writer.
Robert, aged late 40, a publisher and Jerry’s best friend.
Emma, aged mid 30s, Robert’s wife, who is having an affair with Jerry.
An Italian waiter. Age 30-60. (A cameo role with few lines)
Rehearsals will be held three times a week, inc. one at weekends, starting in September.
We will be holding auditions at 153 Rourke Road at 7:30pm on Thurs., Aug. 19 Call backs, if necessary, on Aug. 26 at 7:30pm.
The auditions will be held outside, weather permitting. Expect to do a cold read from the script.
Successful actors must be members of Salt Spring Community Theatre Society or must become a member before rehearsals begin.
(Membership fees are used to fund a $500 scholarship for a GISS theatre student each year.)
Vaccinated actors will be given priority.
